There is increasing awareness about hybrid vehicles today especially with cars going electric and hybrid but we do not often hear about Hybrid trucks. If Trucks go hybrid there is larger possibility to save on fuel and lessen the amount of global warming. The new 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid is a full size pickup truck in the latest dual mode hybrid technology. The new Chevy gives superior gas mileage and it can accelerate to 29 mph solely on electric power. What questions the critics is whether it does really have any Hybrid value as it is being offered solely in one body style although it gives a quirky power delivery it is still one of the favorites amongst people who are looking to buy an Hybrid truck. The new 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid gains E85 compatibility with a powerful V8 engine, it has the option of a navigation and audio system.

The new 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid is a full size crew cab pickup model that comes with either a 1HYversion or a 2HY trim version. The base 1HY trim version comes with standard features like keyless entry, soft bed tonneau cover, 18 inch alloy wheels, full power accessories, towing equipments, dual zone automatic climate control, 40/20/40 split front bench seats, leather wrapped steering wheel with auxiliary audio controls, OnStar entertainment system, Bluetooth options, six speaker CD/MP3 stereo with satellite radio options, cruise controls and many other optional features. The 2HY is a luxury segment version that comes with added features of a fog lamp, rear parking sensors, heated exterior mirrors having integrated turn signals, navigation system, hard bed tonneau cover, rear audio control, USB port, power adjustable pedals, power front bucket seats, leather upholstery, upgraded Bose audio system, auto dimming rearview mirror and many other features. The base 1HY offers a stand along power driver seat options, amongst the optional features are the back up camera, remote start and a sunroof.

The powertrain options in the new 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid is being available in two or four wheel drive options, it is powered with a 6.0 liter V8 engine that comes with a cylinder deactivation technology that are equipped with two 60 kilowatt electric motors. The output of the new machine stands at 332 horsepower, the new machine offers electrically variable transmission option that comes with a regular automatic and CVT options. The standard safety features of the machine are antilock disc brakes system, stability control, full length side curtain airbags and other optional features.
